If you print personal data, this is also covered by the GDPR. A new poster, ready to hang in the printer room, gives some good advice on how to take care of paper material.

The data protection rules also apply to the personal data that appears in documents that you print. They must therefore be handled securely - just like when they are processed electronically. How to do this in practice, the Data Protection Authority gives a few tips on a new poster, which can be printed and hung up in printer rooms, staff rooms, etc. In 2023, the Data Protection Authority expects to prepare more guidance material on processing information on print and removable media (e.g. USB sticks or portable hard drives).
